Training of Trainers on Nameko Mushroom production and management practices

May 15th, 2025
The Mushroom Section of ARDSC-Khangma, in collaboration with the National Mushroom Centre, is conducting a five-day training on Nameko Mushroom Production and Management Techniques for 13 progressive youth mushroom growers and 12 Gewog Agriculture Officers from the eastern region.
Nameko mushroom cultivation is a new venture for mushroom growers in the East. This training is aimed at diversifying mushroom production by introducing Nameko alongside the already popular Oyster and Shiitake mushrooms offering consumers a choice to wider variety of locally grown mushrooms.
As part of the program, participants will be introduced to IoT-based climate control technologies to support year-round production by maintaining optimal growing conditions.
Following the training, participants will begin cultivating Nameko mushrooms using maize stubble and bed logs as part of their post-training implementation.
This program is supported by the CARLEP IFAD Project.
