In commemoration of the 117th National Day, a Hybrid-Vigor Cattle Exhibition was held at Tangmachu, Lhuentse on December 15, 2024. This event, financially supported by CARLEP-IFAD, was themed “Appreciating the Importance of Hybrid Cattle,” emphasizing the benefits and outcomes of hybrid cattle breeding interventions through Artificial Insemination (AI) technology utilizing imported sex-sorted semen which was procured with fund support from CARLEP-IFAD. The AI procedures were carried out by Community Artificial Insemination Technicians (CAITs) and Livestock Supervisors. The exhibition showcased various hybrid breeds, with a particular focus on the sex-sorted semen Jersey breed, to educate and encourage farmers and stakeholders about the advantages of hybrid vigor breeds. Dairy farmers from Minjey and Menbi Gewogs participated actively, presenting approximately 50 heads of sex-sorted semen progeny.
