Skilling and Post-skilling Program on Mushroom Production, Management and Enterprise Development

The Five-day intensive training program on mushroom production, management and enterprise development which began on 4th November successfully concluded today. A total of 21 participants (14 male and 7 female) from seven dzongkhags: Trashigang, Trashiyangtse, Mongar, Pemagatshel, Lhuentse, Samdrup Jongkhar and Bumthang attended the training.
The training curriculum encompassed a wide range of topics, including:
• Fundamentals of mushroom science
• Design of mushroom sheds suitable for different locations
• Successful mushroom production and management techniques using straw and saw-dust
• Common mushroom diseases and their management
• Integration of IoT-based automation in mushroom farming for year-round production
• Experiential learning from a successful mushroom entrepreneur
Following the training, participants will establish commercial mushroom production units through a cost-sharing approach. This skilling and post skilling program is funded by CARLEP-IFAD and led by the Mushroom Section of the Centre.
