Remote Supervision Mission of CARLEP Begins

IFAD has undertaken remote supervision for CARLEP in the light of COVID-19 Pandemic.
The team composition for the remote mission include Mr.Rami Salman, Mission Leader and Programme Management Specialist, Mr.Nirajan Khadka, Environmental Specialist, Mr.Pratul Dube, Financial Management Specialist, Mr.Tshewang Gyeltshen, Procurement Specialist, Ms.Mehry Ismaili, M&E and KM, Mr.Karan Sehgal, Renewable Energy Specialist, Mr.Thinlay Wangchuk, Land Management Specialist, Mr.Zahid Ahmad Shakeel, Infrastructure, Ms.Yangchi Pema, Gender and Social Inclusion, and Mr.Roshan Cooke, Country Director
The objective of the mission is to review current performance, provide guidance or new solutions for on-going challenges and to ensure that it is in line with the Government’s new Development Plan.
An in-depth review of recent experiences of IFAD and others in the agriculture and rural sectors, and in particular in the agribusiness sector will also be undertaken. The mission will also assess the support rendered to promote grassroots farmers’ groups, associations, and cooperatives, and other self-help groups in undertaking agribusiness activities as well as micro and small enterprises and microfinance services used by the target group.
The supervision mission will come to an end by 19th October 2021.
